Nissha Foundation for Printing Culture and Technology Receives Kyoto City Art Promotion Award

The Nissha Foundation for Printing Culture and Technology has been awarded the “Kyoto City Art Promotion Award” for the fiscal year 2021 by Kyoto City. This award is given to individuals and organizations who have contributed to the development of newcomers and the improvement of the activity environment for the promotion and development of Kyoto City’s cultural arts. In the fiscal year 2021, there were nine awards, of which the Nissha Foundation for Printing Culture and Technology was the only organization to receive the award.

The award ceremony was held on January 21, 2022 at the Kyoto City KYOCERA Museum of Art. Junya Suzuki, the Chairman of the foundation (Chairman of the Board, President and CEO of Nissha Co., Ltd.), attended the ceremony and received a certificate of commendation from Mayor Mr. Daisaku Kadokawa.

The foundation was established in 2009 with the donation from Mr. Shozo Suzuki, the late Chairperson Emeritus of Nissha Co., Ltd. for the purpose of promoting printing culture. It aims to collect, preserve, and publish materials related to printing culture and technology, hold study groups and lectures, and subsidize and support research and so on. Specific activities include the operation of the Nissha Museum of Printing History (in the Main Hall of Nissha Co., Ltd.), the production and operation of the art information web magazine “AMeeT”, and the sponsorship of the “PATinKyoto Print Art Triennale in Kyoto”. In addition, the Foundation holds and subsidizes various workshops and cultural events. This award is due to the recognition of these cultural and artistic contributions by the selection committee.
